Amonitke Cameron, 15, chats with photojournalist Rick D'Elia during a recent visit to the boy's carpentry and joinery shop at the Sisters of Mercy Mercy Wings Vocational Training Centre in the Sophia settlement in the Guyanese capital, Georgetown. About 40 at-risk youth each year attend, learning marketable trade skills as well as basic remedial and life skills during a 10-month program. The program has been in operation since September 2007.
